Welcome to Traveling with Purpose!

Have you ever thought about exploring more meaningful travel?  Today I thought I’d share a few ideas on what kinds of unique travel experiences are out there to consider the next time you have a few days or a few months free.

Humanitarian Travel–  Opportunities are offered by non-profit organizations to reach out to poor and under-served people around the world.

Doctor’s without Borders –  Paid Positions – (Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)) recruits medical and non-medical aid workers to provide assistance in nearly 60 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict, epidemics, malnutrition, exclusion from health care, or natural disasters.

  • Food for the Hungry – Is a faith-based organization that acknowledges that impoverished people have good ideas and valuable knowledge for solving their own problems. They partner with poor communities to find solutions and local resources, so they are invested in projects.  FFH has volunteer travel opportunities for individuals and churches or groups in the U.S. and around the world.

Service-Oriented Travel – Offering your time, strengths and expertise to assist causes around the world. This can be through volunteerism, internships or paid, working vacations.
