A few ideas about
Where to find Travel Inspiration
You can be inspired about travel by a wide range of things. A clever quote, a painting of a far-off land, a song, a movie, or a book about an epic journey. Maybe you met someone that shared about a life-changing adventure and you want to do the same. Pinterest is an amazing place to find travel inspiration. Just type in a destination you’re dreaming about and hundreds of pins will pop up about that place. If you’re not sure where you want to go, pick up a few travel magazines or read a travel blog [like you’re doing now] to introduce you to new places that you may not have even heard about.
One of my favorite places to find travel inspiration is in the movies. “Under the Tuscan Sun” is one that’s truly memorable. If you’ve never seen this classic romance set in a rural Tuscan villa in Italy, you’ll love diving into the book or the movie.
Here’s some great inspiration if you can’t travel right now, but want to enjoy a staycation or mini-vacation close to home. There are even ways to get away mentally while you’re at home.
Travel Can Inspire Creativity
In the same way, your travels can inspire you after you return home. It can be the spark to ignite a new idea for decor or art or even a new culinary recipe that you just can’t forget from your latest destination. I love bringing home a small piece of art from the places I visit. Nothing big or expensive. Maybe a small print or watercolor from a craft fair or art show.
If you’re an artist, experiencing new places can cultivate wonderful explosions of creativity and inspiration for your own unique art, music, dance, or any imaginative expression.
Travel Can Inspire Action
Have you ever traveled to an impoverished or war-torn area? Visiting regions with people who are less fortunate than you are can inspire gratitude for all that you have. It can also motivate you to give of your time or resources to help others in need. Your travel could lead you to return to do volunteer work or find ways to help from your home base.
If you travel to areas where wild animal poaching is a problem, then you may have been inspired to join a non-profit cause to protect the creatures on this earth from devastation. Or maybe you’ve seen environmental wastelands that motivate you to help find ways to clean them up and prevent them in the future.
Travel inspiration can lead your heart and mind in many different directions. The simple act of leaving home can reduce stress from your busy everyday life. When you visit a new place you open your mind to new experiences, which helps you learn adaptability. You do things you never did before, which builds confidence and problem-solving skills. You experience different cultures and see other people’s struggles, which deepens your empathy and compassion. This is just the beginning of how travel can change you forever. I hope my blog inspires you to embark on a new adventure soon!
