Let’s get started!
USA Travel
When you dream of USA travel, even though we all speak the same language, you can be sure you’ll find a variety of cultures, accents, and lifestyles. You can visit remote ranches in Montana or huge metro areas like New York City and everything in between. The hardest part is deciding where to go first. I’ve traveled in every region in the country and have lived in 4 out of 5 regions. I’ve visited 49 of 50 states in the U.S. I can’t wait to help you find the perfect destination that fits your unique travel style, and budget.

This is the region where I grew up! The Midwestern States are known as the “Heartland” or “Breadbasket” of America. Here you’ll find some of the most abundant farmland in the country that produce crops that feed the world. Small towns and historic Main Streets sprinkle the landscape in between.
You’ll find a few larger cities, like Chicago, Columbus, and Indianapolis, but generally, it’s a laid-back casual small-town vibe. The northern states in this area border Canada and you’ll even find beaches along the Great Lakes and other fresh-water lakes like the Ozarks.
The Northeast USA States are a wonderful mix of big cities, like New York City and Boston, combined with miles of rural countryside and quaint small towns. The coast is famous for lobster, oysters, clams, and excellent seafood of all kinds.
The Northeast Region is rich in history, dating back to before America’s founding. You’ll find excellent examples of Gilded Age Mansions in Newport, Rhode Island.
The farthest northeast New England states are everyone’s favorite places to see vibrant fall colors of red Maples, gold, and orange in September and October.
We’ve done a bunch of traveling in the Southeast States. Terry and I lived in Virginia for 6 years and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area. He has always been a huge history fan so we made sure to visit as many sites as possible that celebrate the making of America. Washington DC [District of Columbia] is my absolute favorite city in America. There is so much to learn and explore about our nation’s history and legacy. You’ll also find gorgeous architecture there.
The Southeast Region seems to have a culture and climate all its own and is strikingly different than much of the rest of the country. It includes some of the most unique and sometimes painful chapters in our nation’s history, but every bit of it is important to learn and try our best to understand, so it doesn’t happen again.
Have you seen all the gorgeous natural wonders in the Southwest States? Terry grew up in Phoenix, Arizona from a young age and my family moved there when I was a teenager. Because of the heat and the lack of green spaces, it took me some time to grow to love the region. But once you begin to appreciate the unique rustic landscapes and enchanting allure you’ll learn to love it too.
The Southwest Region has wide open spaces, expansive vistas, and otherworldly terrain. The Grand Canyon National Park, Carlsbad Caverns National Park, and Saguaro National Park are just a few of the lands set aside to preserve for future generations. You can learn much about some of our First Nation communities at sacred sites like Monument Valley, Canyon de Chelly, and Chaco Canyon.
Much of the region is known for its dark skies and observatories for pristine astronomy viewing. There’s much more open space between sites that you may want to visit, which can make travel somewhat time-consuming. There are large cities sprinkled around for a unique Southwest experience.
The Western States is another region that we’re very familiar with. Terry and I raised our children here for nearly 2 decades. We lived in Southern California and traveled all over the Western states regularly. You can travel in almost any direction from an airport and find something different; mountains, beaches, national parks, deserts, islands, quaint small towns, wine regions and so much more. No matter what you’re looking for, you can find it in the Western United States.
Some of the most famous parks, like Yellowstone, Yosemite, and Olympic National Park are in the Western states. Six of the 20 largest cities in the USA are located in the West, so there’s no shortage of big-city activities.
